This document details what will be included in the final game.

First Release: Farming Simulation I

Animal Related

Animals will have genes and basic genetics will play a role in breeding your animals. For example: sheep can come in white or black, the white gene is dominant to the black one. Possible genes your sheep could carry are WW (white), Ww (also appears white but has a black gene), and ww (black). You'll be able to pay at a lab to check which genes your animal has. You'll also be able to pay extra to buy livestock where the genes it carries are known. Animals will posses advanced AI that simulates how they will behave in real life. Example: Sheep will tend to stay together in a flock, will graze in grassy areas all on there own, will go find a source of water to drink when thirsty, will flee when a predator comes to close, with guidance will return to a safe place to sleep each night, and lambs will stay very close to there mother. Animals will come in male and female, can be mated, can be given names, and will grow steadily so long as you feed them. Your farmers will be able to eat there animals and sell any raw products they produce (meat, wool, milk, etc.).

Building Related

An advanced plotting system will let you set up markers and customize them. The markers can be walls, floor tiles, door frames, doors, window frames, windows, roofs (maybe), and so on. If StealthOfKing ever finishes his multi-floor system, you'll be able to make multiple floors too. Each marker type will come in several versions, for example: Brick wall, Wooden wall, Plaster Wall, which you may be able to customize even more by recolouring (tinting). Each part of the building will cost money to build. When you are done plotting your room, you select a flag in the center of your room and mark it as ready for building. Any of your people assigned as a builder will then automatically purchase the approrpriate materials and start building. You could take out a loan if you don't have the money at the moment but you'll have to pay it back with interest. If you don't pay your loan back... police will come after you.

Crops

You'll be able to grow a variety of crops on land. First farmers will need to prepare the land. Once you have cropland you can seed the area. Plants will grow on there own but additional watering will increase the growth rate. Overtime the soil nutrients will deplete and you'll have to either fertilize the soil or else if you left it too long redig and reprepare the ground. Harvesting, planting/, fertilizing, and weeding can be done automatically. Assigned workers can harvest, gather, and store food or tend the soil.

People

The player controls some of the workers of there company (read Story for more info on the companies). People can be bred and have names. They are much like the Sims from The Sims 2. There main needs are hunger and thirst. Each person can have there own house, personal bank account, and stuff that they carry around or keep in there house.

Money

Money is carried around as an item (the exact value being shown by the charges). You get it by selling farm products. As a player you can not do any of the NPC jobs (examples: geneticist, police, soldier, mailman, store clerk, factory worker, etc.). The only job available to them is working for your farm. Money can be carried around, placed in vaults, left lying around in your house, put in a bank account (either the farmers personal account or the companies account). Money is used to buy everything.

The Law

Depending on what laws you are breaking, there are several levels of wantedness. * is where police will come after you and try to put you in jail. ** is where police will shoot on sight. *** is where swat will come after you. **** is where the military will attack. (More levels of wantedness will be added in an expansion). In Farming Simulation most of the common laws (such as traffic laws) are ignored.

Infractions

*Stealing, *mugging, *property damage, *failure to pay taxes, **failure to pay a loan, **bringing a gun into a public place, **murder (police or civilian), **shooting a gun near people ***causing any kind of trouble in the bank, ***killing multiple people, ***destroying a building, ***exploding something, ***riot, ****starting a turf war with the other company, ****massacre.

Time

Time is very messed up in Simulation Farmer. One day and night will be equivalent to a season for crops. One minute is equivalent to 1 year for animals. For people, the time it should take from being an embryo to growing into an adult should take about 1 day (hiring more workers will be the main way to quickly bolster the ranks of people you have). Animals and people will not die of old age, but some plants will die eventually if they are not harvested.

Ecosystem System

A natural ecosystem will be simulated. Wild animals and plants will grow and die in the fight for survival. A complete food chain will exist. Disease, Starvation & other Predators > Predators > Nonpredators > Plants > Soil > Sun. Farmers will be able to hunt animals and will have to concern themselves with protecting there own domesticated animals from predation.

Misc

Farming simulation will include basic physics and a projectiles system. An indexing system is used to give units a unique custom value so that data can be attached to them. Human units have an equipment menu and inventory. Data for a selected unit that is displayed on the multiboard include, if selected unit is a human, there name (first and last), gender, hunger & thirst meters, and the company they work for. If selected unit is an animal it shows the same as human but no last name or company name, instead it shows the animals money value and maturity status (and if it has had its DNA examined, the genes it has). If selected unit is a plant or building part it simply shows the name of the unit selected. In an expansion some building parts will have integrity which wears down if they aren't repainted and maintained properly. There will also be weather which won't effect anything gameplay wise.

=========================

That's basically all you can expect us to have done for the first release of Simulation Farmer. The expansion packs will include more features and detail.
